Searching for porn and watching stuff like that is always on parents mind once the child starts browsing the internet. It has always been a pain in the ass :-)

Google has this feature 'Safe Search' which helped parents a great deal if the child is not that tech savvy. But children today are sharp and brilliant than we used to be :-P They would change the safe search settings with-in some clicks. Thats pretty much easy, isn't this? But now, Google has made this alteration in settings quite difficult for kids.
Google has introduced 'Safe Search Lock' for locking the safe search settings. Now all those parents have to do is just go to the search settings page again, select Lock Safe Search and log on to Google account. When you log on to google, google will save the settings related to that profile and there you go. No one will be able to un-lock the safe search unless you are logged in to your account. Locked search result page also has some design change. Result page will display a picture so prominent that parents or teachers can have a look from the far that whatever kid is surfing is not bad.

If you are owner of a PC with multiple browsers, then you have to repeat this on all the browsers separately. Also if you are owner of a PC with multiple account logins then you have to repeat this process for all necessary logins. Make sure that third party cookies are allowed on other browsers. For network administrators who are managing network behind a proxy, they just have to append &safe=strict to all search requests sent to Google and there you GO!!!.  Go, Parents Go!!!
